December Week 3

December Week 3
December 12th-18th, 2010

It's my favorite time of the year, and not just because it's my birthday week. :)

It's time for concerts and parties, and so much more.

Monday night we had a spontaneous and wonderful get together with Jamie, Jenny, and their kids, Lindy, Alex & James at our house. It was a blast watching the kids play and catching up with our good friends who we haven't seen much as they have been living and serving in Haiti for the past year.

Sweet baby James, just over 2 months old. :)

Tuesday was my birthday. My last twenty-something birthday.
Pete took me out to dinner and I had a really fantastic day, full of great surprises.
Wednesday and Thursday were busy with work.
My last Christmas concert (that I directed) was on Wednesday morning.
Pete worked a lot, we went to several concerts, and worked on getting the house cleaned for our party.

Friday was a 1/2 day of school for me.
Yipee for Christmas Break!!!

I had a hair appointment after school, needed to pick up Emily from daycare and then I had several last minute errands to run to get ready for the life group (Bible study) party, but the car wouldn't start AGAIN (it's doing this quite frequently now, but no one can give us a good answer as to how to fix it!) so LeneƩ was kind enough to help get me where I needed to go.

Eventually (several hours later) I got the car started (it's an unsolved mystery, and if you know much about cars and want to solve it that would be fantastic!) and Emily and I went home.

Party prep was pretty much done and before we knew it Pete was home and our friends were arriving. :)

We had a fun night of letting the kids play together
while the grown ups visited, ate, drank & swapped cookies :)
I was proud of Emily for sharing her toys as well as she did.
I snapped this photo of her reading by herself in her room.
When I asked her what she was doing she told me the babies were all playing with her toys and it's hard to share so she wanted to read 'by myself'... at this stage, having her isolate herself for a little bit is better than the alternative of fighting over toys!

We even managed a group photo of (most of) the kids.

Thanks for a fun night, friends! :)
