Our Life: November Week 5

November 27th-December 3rd

Back home in Long Beach, we let Emily hang the ornaments on the tree.

Pete is working every afternoon and night.  It's exhausting for both of us.
Tonight I tried to get the kids to cooperate with some photos, but no luck.  I even let them play with these crazy headbands.  (Noah has little Santas on his headband and Em is wearing antlers.)

On Saturday we tried to take a family photo for our Christmas cards,
but this one (above) was the best we could get today.

Our Life: November Week Four

November 20-26, 2011

On Sunday, November 20th Noah was baptized at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount, CA.

Surprise, surprise... it rained.  :)
It rained on the day he was born.
{ It rained on the day we brought him home from the hospital.
It rained today, the day of his baptism.
Even in Southern California, it seems to rain on the most significant days of his life.
His future bride should just be prepared for a rainy day wedding.  ;)
Fitting, I guess, for a baby named Noah. }
Noah was hilarious, looking up at Pastor Ken while he spoke.
He made the whole congregation giggle.  :)
Afterwards we had a luncheon at our house.
(A few more people came than are in this picture, but we snapped a quick photo before Pete had to leave.)

This boy is happiest when he's either eating, or n@ked.
... he gets those traits from his father.  ;)

Monday & Tuesday: David stayed here with Pete, Noah & me.
Emily went to Palm Springs with Grandpa & Grandma.
I had ACSI Convention during school hours.
On Tuesday, David, Peter & Noah went down to San Diego together.
In the evening we pulled out the Christmas lights & decorations and went out for a yummy dinner at my fav restaurant--Roman Cucina!

On Wednesday, David, Noah & I drove to Palm Springs.  (Pete was working in SD.)
Mom & Dad (aka Grandpa & Grandma Sasha) got condos for all of us and we had a fun few days hanging out together.
Pete joined us for Thanksgiving and after dinner we all went to see his first appearance in a major motion picture... The Muppet Movie!  ;)
...and we could see him!   (For all of 2 seconds, but still, it was fun and a great movie too!)
Happy Thanksgiving!

Our life: November Week 3

November Week 3
November 13-19, 2011

It's December 26th now.
I'm trying to wrap up the year, so I won't bother typing much here, but for those of you who miss seeing a glimpse of our life, and our kiddos growing up, I'll post photos.

Life has been crazy here for the past six or seven weeks.  Pete took an amazing gig, but one that means he has 8 shows a week... in San Diego.  It's tough... really, really tough... but we knew it would be.
Knowing what we know now would we do it again?  Who knows... but why waste time and energy second guessing it?!

In any case, our time is at a premium these days, but here are some overdue photos!

I re-organized all of the kids' clothes in one (chaotic) day... clothes from all closets, stored in the garage and everything.
This is what it looked like in the middle of the process as I had everything spread all over the living room!

 sweet sleepy boy

he has a mouthful of teeth!

he already loves to play with this toy!

 playing 'cootie'  :)
(This is a different day than the spaghetti pictures... she just loves her Hawkeyes and wants to wear her Hawkeye clothes constantly!)
my little girl loves to do everyone's hair and Grandma was a good sport!
silly girls :)

Our Life: November Week 2

November 2011
11.6 - 11.12
This is the dinner that Em made for us while I was making enchiladas.
She was really sad when we told her we had to pick it up before we could eat our real dinner.
She asked me to take a photo of it.  No problem honey :)
(A girl after my own heart.)

Noah tried to sneak a chip. . .
Not yet, buddy.

Wait... I think we put the wrong kid in the exersaucer...

See his red cheek?  That's because he's getting 8 teeth right now.
Yes, EIGHT.
In other Noah news...
Look who's learning to crawl!!!

Look out world, here comes Noah!

Smile for Mama!

...or pull your sister's hair...

The normal mess on my desk at the elementary school.

Thursday was a big day for Pete...

he hired a couple sound engineers & a bunch of fellow professional musicians...

...and recorded some of his marching band music.
We are SO excited to hear the results... I came by to bring lunch for everyone and they sounded A.MA.ZING!

Music clips coming soon to his NEW Innovative Marching website!
(He also hired a new website designer--exciting times!)
The site's not quite ready, but it's up and running.
Check it out at:

See you next week!
