It all started because I took the Middle School Women's Ensemble to hear the LA Children's Choir at the local Performing Arts Center. Because of that, Lenee and I ended up with a long lunch. We decided to enjoy a leisurely lunch Corner Bakery...that was the plan anyway. Pete was at the park with Em while our Impala was in the shop getting an oil change. I called to invite them to come along and then went to pick them up. What I didn't realize was that I was almost out of gas.
Well, we tried driving from the park to Corner Bakery, but yep, you guessed it, we ran out of gas on the way, missed out on lunch with Lenee, and Pete had to walk all the way back to Vons for gas. Not only that but instead of buying a normal gas can, we borrowed something from the shop where the Impala was, but then after Pete returned with the gas, we couldn't get enough gas into the car. {argh...}
To make a long story short, an hour later, with one very tired, hot and hungry baby, it all worked out and we were very grateful. (Honestly, I can only sing "the fruit of the spirit's not a watermelon" so many times ;) plus, although it's February, it was well over 80 degrees outside so we were baking in the sun!)
The picture was taken while we were sitting in the car, waiting for Pete to go get the gas.
