Friday.

Bedtime....

Em has been sleeping much better since we started her on some allergy medicine.  We were a little surprised since neither Pete or I have allergies that we know of, but it certainly has been helping her!

Tonight I snuck a quick picture of Em & Dad making her bedtime bottle and measuring out her medicine.  Good night!

Thursday.

I bought some bath painting-markers to draw on the wall of the tub, and Em thought they were the best! (Despite the frown in the picture)  As you can see, Mom & Dad liked them too.  Our daughter may be a genius ;) but she isn't writing quite yet. :)

Wednesday.

Grandpa & Grandma came back from Atascadero today.  They seemed to have had a good time.  Tonight I went to dinner and then Broadway Showcase with Lenee & Jenn.  

This picture isn't from today, but I figure if I can get photos taken almost everyday, filling in occasionally with other photos from the week isn't so bad.  :) Besides, you can find Em talking on the phone almost everyday!

Sunday.

Pete was busy all day recording with his brass ensemble so Em and I hung out with my parents and Michael.  During Em's nap my parents and I went to Lowe's to buy flowers, window boxes, a tomato plant and some miscellaneous garden supplies.  When we got back we planted and Em came out to "help".  She loved digging in the dirt and watering the flowers!  After our gardening we went to Cafe El Cholo's...yummy!!

I wish Pete could have been with us, but we had a wonderful day!

Saturday.

My parents arrived late last night, so Em was happily surprised this morning to find her grandparents at her house.  This evening my cousin Matt & his family came over for dinner.  Em followed Ben all around and you can see them reading together in Em's room.  So cute!!

Friday afternoon, Em couldn't help herself from the flowers on the table, and just as I was about to say "no" in my 'mom voice', I decided to reach for my camera instead.  :)

March 12.

Thursday.

Pete was gone again tonight, busy recording for his brass ensemble, so Em & I went shopping at Carters.  We got a great deal on this dress and came home to try it on and take some pictures.  Emily wasn't too interested in looking at the camera or sitting still for a photo, so most of them are of her walking away from me, or grabbing for the camera.  (That seems pretty typical these days.)   :)  This one though, she paused for a second to blow me a kiss.  Mmmuah!  I love you too sweetie!

Wednesday.

Today two students from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa came to stay with us.  They were in the band and on tour during their spring break.  They were only here one night but Em makes fast friends and spend the evening sitting on their laps, talking and singing.

Tuesday.

Dad had to work tonight, so we had girls night, just the two of us.  I put you in this little dress that Dawn handed down to you and we played and played.  You loved talking on your cell phone and listening to Dad's recorded voice say "Oooga booga!  Oooga, oooga, ooga booga!"  You thought it was hilarious!!  :)

Monday.

Grandpa & Grandma Connell left today to go back to Iowa.  These photos are from our trip down to Seal Beach yesterday.  The weather was beautiful and we had a ton of fun!

Sunday.

We all went to church and then came home to hang out.  Em melts my heart when she copies me.  Here she's "laying out" in my chair and then getting her purse ready and carrying it around.  What a sweet little girl!  :)

The rest of my family spent the day at Disneyland.  Pete was working and his parents hung out with their granddaughter.  It sounds like they had a great time!

Thursday, March 5th.

Today was BUSY!!  

I took my middle school orchestra kids downtown to see the LA Philharmonic perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall (which was amazing!) and if that's not enough excitement, Grandpa Steve and Grandma Cindy arrived today too!  While I was at work, our precious little peach had fun running around the backyard with Grandma and climbing on her slide.  :)

Tuesday.  

The Fine Arts Festival. 

A lot of work and preparations go into this day, and it's finally here... and finally over!  I had a huge number of students participate, and all things considered, it went pretty smoothly.  (This is one of my quartets from the elementary school.)

Phew!  I'm so glad that's over!  One more thing I can check off of my huge 'To Do' list.  Now it's time to get ready for Thursday....

Not a great photo.  Not a great day.  Thankfully though, Pete called Michael and asked him to babysit last minute so we could go out and relax for an hour over dinner.  There are days like this, stressful... busy... even chaotic, but we get through them the best we can and go on.  Tomorrow will be another day :)
