September 2

September 9th-15th, 2012

Night after night Em keeps climbing in bed with Noah.
She has been having nightmares and says she sleeps better in his bed.
(Yes darling, your baby brother will protect you...) :)
I love that they are sleeping the same way!
This was the last night of this trend though because we moved the twin size mattress in to her room and took out the toddler bed.  Now she is sleeping peacefully in her 'new' bed.

A sneak peak of something I'm working on...

Friday night we had Jocelyn over for a sleepover.
They had a great time!

Saturday morning we walked to the donut shop, played in the backyard and painted some new fall crafts.

A BEAUTIFUL sunset.
We have had a lot of these lately and just before this the sky turns a beautiful shade of rosy pink!

Sunday was exhausting to say the least.
Pete finally got back around midnight and we were all glad to have him home!

Monday night in the back yard.
Like father, like son!
I love that they're both leaning and looking into the box. . . they're even wearing matching shirts :)

Saturday morning the kids and I walked to the park to play and on the way home stopped by the Good Neighbor Festival taking place in the front part of the park.
(We had no idea such a thing existed, but had a good time!)

September 1

September Week 1
September 2-8, 2012

It's time for SCHOOL!!!!
Monday night before the first day.... she was so excited she couldn't sleep and kept getting out of bed!

First day of school with her new Dora backpack and Strawberry Shortcake lunch box.

Flowers in a pencil vase (thanks Pinterest!) for her teacher.

Our first day of school together!

This is Emily's first year at the elementary school with me and we both are loving it.  :)
I love that I get to work (part time) at the school my kids are at (or will be at).
Not only do I get to see them more, but I know (and love) their teachers and let's be honest-- being colleagues with your kids teachers is a huge perk but not why you might think.
Also, I get to know her friends and peers way better than an average mom might which I'm already enjoying and I'm sure it will come in handy in years to come!
Emily and her wonderful teacher, Mrs. Haagsma!

Emily and her BFF, Jocelyn

 Outside her classroom

Emily has been telling me "I'm not gonna miss you Mommy, because I'm at your school now" all of the week leading up to her first day, and sure enough, day one: she ran off to the playground to see her friends right away!  :)

All of the KCC kids lined up with Mrs. Haagsma and Ms. Linda.
Em is waving, and as she walked by she said:
"Mommy, I am going to miss you but I'm happy that we are at school together."
{Me too, Em.}

 Noah's new smile/squint

I bought a uniform skirt from the thrift store and cut it up to make these hair clips for Emily!
Cute, right?  :)

The past several nights in a row Emily has climbed into the crib with Noah.  :)
They sleep surprisingly well this way, but we always end up moving her back to her own bed
Emily's new dress and headband from the pinkadink!
I love it and it's super cute, but she refused to let me take her picture in it--little stinker!
This dress however, she was more than pleased to pose ;)

 silly faces

See you next week!
