July Week 1

1st Week of July, 2010
OK, next problem due to no computer: photos are in reverse order.
.sigh.
Friday or Saturday we went to the zoo.
This photo was at the end of the afternoon when Emily was getting a little tired.
Emily loved the elephants and all of the displays over at "Elephant Odyssey"

Someone had to figure out where we were. :)

::making big ears like the elephants::

Emily wasn't very impressed with the elephants at first...
"EWWWW!!! STINKY!!! Mommy, no, I want go!! STINKY!!!"
::playing with daddy at the zoo::

our little excavator ;)

Upon entering the zoo,
Emily walked in and was immediately mesmerized...
by...
the...
ducks.
yep, ducks.
we had to pry her away and insist that there would be other animals,
even more interesting than ducks.
I'll just say there were a few tears shed,
but she soon realized we were right and she cheered up again. :)
(p.s. I love that she's up on her tippy toes to get a better look!)
Welcome to the San Diego Zoo!

On Tuesday (or was it Wednesday?) we all went down to San Diego for Pete's first week of "Robin and the 7 Hoods".
Emily playing on our bed at the Residence Inn.

We unpacked some of her toys, books and blankets and she immediately found this cozy little nook to lay down and read.

The 4th of July...
before we went to watch fireworks we stopped at McD's for an ice cream cone
(it was the only place open!)

I love these two!
::feeling patriotic::
Dinner outside on a BEAUTIFUL evening.
At the end of Petapalooza, Emily and Peter had the bounce house to themselves :)
[I don't know who liked it more!!]

The 1st Annual Petapalooza 4th of July Block Party!!
This was a lot of fun...
our neighborhood closed off the street and had an old fashioned block party,
complete with a bbq, bike parade and dessert contest :)

::getting ready for church in the morning::

Happy 4th of July!

June: Week 5

June: Week 5
June 27th-July 3rd
We spent part of this week in Iowa... I think...
I still don't have my computer, which makes EVERYTHING more difficult--
especially photo sorting, editing and blogging.
It also means that a lot of projects that I wanted to do this summer won't get done,
but there's not much I can do about it. :/ Oh well.

So, for this week's only pathetic photo:
I give you.... The Mustang.
Our family's '68 mustang...
it was my mom's parents'... then my mom's...
now michael's... and now it's for sale!

Anyone interested?!
:)
(It's the original "metallic green" color, too!)

Em, Grandma Cathy and Great Gramma Markee

Four Generations of Girls

This melts my heart because although Emily is often hesitant around Gramma Markee, she was all smiles and giggles today, waving bye-bye and blowing kisses before we left. :)

June: Week 2 (+)

June Week 2 and Sunday/Monday of Week 3
This was the last week of school!!!
Thank goodness :)
It was a busy week, trying to get everything wrapped up,
but even still I felt like the weight of the world was off of my shoulders
now that our concerts and musical is over.
Monday was Disneyland day, where we take (almost) the entire middle school to Disneyland.
After riding the bus there and getting the students into the park, I met up with Pete and Emily and we enjoyed our morning there as a family.
Emily saw a painting of "I know you" and immediately climbed on the bench to get a better look.

Doin' the 30 day shred with mom (who took a temporary leave to get the camera) and dad :)

so many flowers...
Clean Up! Clean Up! Everybody, everywhere!
Clean Up! Clean Up! Everybody do your share!
We gave Em some new blocks and she built this giant castle :)
ahhh... our new favorite salad

a quick family snapshot before our walk

SUMMER TIME!!!!!!!

Excused Absence

Please excuse Sarah's absence from this blog.

She has been without her computer since the second week of June.
Said computer is still missing (aka: at the Apple store due to water damage), so all future posts at this point are with photos straight off the camera... no cropping or editing at all. :(
Please excuse all sloppy photos and blog posts.
I'm doing my best with what I've got. :)

So, without further ado... here come over a month's worth of summer pictures...

June: Week 1

May 30-June 5

B.U.S.Y.

way. too. busy.

this was 'supposed' to be a 4 day work week...

but instead of 32 hours...

I put in over 64 hours.

yes... more than twice that.

Sunday, after church, before the craziness began.
Monday
Oops, this photo is from Tuesday.
Emily's hair in two sweet little french braids. :)
Tuesday: tech week for the show.
Erin and a couple of other super parents and colleagues helped us pull it all together!
Wednesday, at one of our dress rehearsals.
Thursday, time for a cast photo:
these are my kiddos :)
Friday, after the show.
{huge sigh of relief}
Tonight was fantastic!
We sold out the show and the kids did wonderfully!
Saturday.
Today's show went well too.
Afterwards we went to the cast party at Robin's house.
As glad as I am to have this over and done with,
I am going to miss these kids. :)
Emily had a BLAST at the party!
Those 8th graders were super sweet to her,
playing with her in the pool and giving her lots of attention. :)
Summer is so close... I can just about taste it!!!
yipee!!!
